Strengthening Women’s Participation in Politics: Campaign Skills Training Workshop Successfully Delivered
PENHA with support with the UNDEF (The United Nations Democracy Fund) has successfully conducted a workshop titled as 'Strengthening Women’s Participation in Politics: Campaign Skills Training' from 14th to 15th of March, 2018 in Ambassador Hotel, Hargeisa, Somaliland.
The two-day campaign skills training workshop had brought 80 women who are active in political participation, politics or are potential candidates for elected office. Being the first of a series of training workshops aimed at strengthening women’s ability to participate in politics and run for elected office, it was able to create an open forum for discussion and support the women on how to plan and conduct a campaign, with specific skills and tools. Additioanlly, the event was able to provide an opportunity for women to network and share ideas. During the workshop session PENHA's baseline study on women in politics and the proposed Quota was presented and debated.
