Somali Investment Forum: Returning Capital for Growth

Sadia Ahmed, PENHA's Representative in Somaliland, is attending the Somali Investment Forum: Returning Capital for Growth (SIF). Shuraako and the US Embassy, Nairobi are co-hosting this two and a half day event which will convene entrepreneurs, investors, sector experts, business development experts  and other  and other stakeholders – all of whom are focused on Somalia – to discuss investing in Somalia and to make investment deals.

Ethio-Feed Regional Exchange for Improved Animal Productivity

PENHA with the support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and in partnership Ethiopians Agro-Pastoralist Development Association (EAPDA) created an opportunity for the Sudanese, Somalis, Ethiopians and others to visit the animal feed manufacturer - Ethio-Feed which is located in Adama (Nazareth), Oromia Region of Ethiopia.

PENHA Congratulates Fetien Abay for her African Union Award

A long-time member of the Prolinnova network, Fetien Abay, received the African Union Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Award 2014 for the Eastern African Region in the Earth and Life Sciences category. The award ceremony was on 19 December 2014 at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Fetienwas given recognition for her outstanding achievements in science and technology. She is the Director of the Institute of Environment, Gender and Development Studies at Mekelle University in northern Ethiopia and is the scientific coordinator of various community-based projects.

The previously postponed conference on Policy Dialogue Session and Capacity Building of Pastoral Groups and Networks (originally scheduled for the end of August) will commence from 14th to 16th October 2014 in Kampala, Uganda.
